Our Startups

We invest and partner first and foremost based on values and mission alignment, but also the ability to accelerate progress through our strategic and creative expertise as well as our network of industry leaders.

Fund II

Our second fund builds on the success of Fund I and is currently in the deployment phase. We remain focused on investing in clean and climate tech, biotech, health tech, food and agriculture transformation, and financial equity.

Material

Material is the first company in the world to 3D print lithium-ion batteries—reshaping how energy fits into our lives, devices, and designs. With its proprietary HYBRID3D™ platform, Material doesn’t just make batteries; it prints them directly into the form of the product itself—unlocking radical new freedoms in shape, performance, and possibility.

Their mission is to give designers, builders, and engineers the power to imagine without compromise. Material believes energy should conform to ideas—not the other way around. So they’ve built the tools to make batteries slimmer, smarter, and seamlessly embedded in the next generation of technology.

Shyld AI

Shyld AI is redefining hospital safety—fusing artificial intelligence with UV disinfection to create the first truly autonomous layer of protection in patient care. Its plug-and-play platform doesn’t just disinfect—it learns, adapts, and optimizes, transforming every hospital room into a smarter, safer environment.

Born from a mission to reduce hospital-acquired infections, Shyld AI equips healthcare teams with real-time insights and precision automation, enabling staff to focus on patients while it works quietly in the background. Protection is effortless, invisible, and ever-present—raising the standard of care without adding to the workload.

With Shyld AI, safety is no longer an afterthought—it’s built into the very fabric of the room.

Lura Health

Lura Health created the world’s first continuous health monitoring device powered by saliva—a tiny sensor that opens new frontiers in health monitoring. Through their advances in engineering and technology, they’ve broken open the ability to read and report the powerful messages hidden in our spit—and to do it all without pain, invasive procedures or inconvenience for people.

Lura’s mission is to give everyone the power to have a conversation with their body about their health through technology. They call this bio-linguistic health: giving a voice to bodily systems like saliva, and allowing you to make sense of the information they have to share—and use it to make better health decisions.

Syndicate

Syndicate is a technology provider that empowers communities with the tools to create their own economic systems aligned with their members, values, and needs. Our technology enables new economic system innovation, community-owned and -governed platforms, and frictionless cross-community trade and transactions.

Syndicate’s work is built on the basic premise that if you want to build a community with its own economic system designed around its own values, technology should enable it. That ethos permeates everything we do, including the design, features, and choices we’ve made to fully decentralize our technology.

Fund I

Our initial fund, where we proved and refined our model, consisted of five investments focused in areas where we have a strong network and can add strategic value, including cleantech, biotech, and food and agriculture transformation.

GreenLab

GreenLab is creating a plant biotech platform that is greening manufacturing by sustainably producing industrial proteins in the factory of the future, the cornfield.

Industrial proteins and enzymes are transforming a wide number of industries enabling healthier foods and medicines, cleaner industries and water supplies, and new forms of renewable energy. However, producing these proteins and enzymes can often be too expensive and environmentally unsustainable.

By growing enzymes and proteins inside of corn, GreenLab can meet this growing demand, helping to unlock transformative new opportunities by delivering infinitely scalable, high-quality proteins and enzymes in an end-to-end sustainable process.

Oobli

Oobli is a new company that is using new, all-natural, sweet proteins to create foods that are healthier, better for the planet, and tastier than previously thought possible. Oobli combines leading-edge science with deep CPG experience, and will be launching its own brands as well as creating strategic partnerships with the leaders in food and beverage

Currently, health and sustainability come with a sacrifice in taste. Sugar is increasingly seen as a huge contributor to chronic health conditions like diabetes - and already there's significant pressure from the healthcare industry to find alternatives and solutions. Oobli’s all-natural, non-GMO, sweet proteins are a unique solution because they deliver sweetness that digests as a protein instead of sugar. They don’t raise your blood sugar and are very low in calories, creating entirely new possibilities for food.

Dimensional Energy

Dimensional Energy is an exciting new company from Cornell University's startup incubator, the McGovern Center, that turns captured CO2 into sustainable aviation fuel. Along with their sustainability-focus and fit to our trajectories, we were impressed by their leadership, market-focus, technology and relationships.

Dimensional are uniquely placed at the center of a transformation in the energy business. The aviation industry is extremely hard to decarbonize through traditional renewables as electric batteries can't support long flights due to weight to power ratio limitations.

Dimensional have a proven carbon transformation solution that is ready to scale. We look forward to partnering with them to accelerate the next generation of energy.

Standard Carbon

Standard Carbon gives you complete confidence in measuring and managing your carbon footprint across your business.

We are at an inflection point in the carbon market. Government regulations are changing across the world to mandate reporting and offsetting Scope 3 emissions, in other words, emissions across the entire supply chain of your business. The problem is, neither businesses nor the carbon market are ready for this seismic shift.

Standard Carbon SaaS software merges your financial and carbon ledgers, making it simple and easy to measure your emissions across your entire supply. They also include an integrated marketplace with high quality credits orginated by their own sister company, Carbon Block, so you can satisfy any debts in moments.

We believe that operating on both sides of the carbon market, climate accounting and carbon project origination, gives the Standard Carbon team and unique view of where markets are heading, and the two businesses together create a flywheel of supply and demand.

Carba

Carba is an exciting new company that converts biomass waste into solid carbon and buries it safely underground.

150 years of fossil fuel industrialization has created hundreds of gigatonnes of Co2 into our atmosphere and has left our climate in crisis. Repairing the damage done starts with a simple logic: humans have extracted and burned a devastating amount of the Earth’s carbon. Carba exists to put it back.

Carba is the only proven and scalable company ready to remove carbon and reverse the harm of industrialization at a systemic level. Their highly efficient and mobile reactors can go to sources of biomass that other solutions can’t access, and they bury the solid carbon within 50 miles of where they process it, ensuring that positive impact isn’t eroded.
